Cliff Roesler

Cliff Roesler

Mr. Roesler is a Co-Founder and Partner of Angle Advisors and has 28 years of investment banking experience. As a degreed engineer, Mr. Roesler’s unique background combines manufacturing process and engineering know-how with financial and accounting experience. Mr. Roesler’s projects generally emphasize products or processes where a unique technical aspect, proprietary know-how, or highly engineered products are involved. He is also active with companies whose value-added distribution type products and business models combine domestic engineering with virtual manufacturing to serve the vehicular, industrial, and consumer product industries. Mr. Roesler is a co-inventor of Angle’s unique “Sponsored Management Buyout” methodology and co-originator of the Fireside Chat® process used to selectively qualify buyer candidates. Having completed over 140 transactions during his career, Mr. Roesler has experience on both domestic and cross-border transactions ranging from corporate carve-outs to private company sales. Mr. Roesler also oversees projects co-executed through Angle’s offices in Germany and China. Some of Mr. Roesler’s notable recent transactions include U.S. Farathane, Radar Industries, Sloan Transportation Products, Packaging Concepts & Design, Fluid Routing Solutions, and BorgWarner’s TPMS Business.

Mr. Roesler has worked on transactions in 26 countries around the world, including in Europe, Asia, North America, and South America. Projects include work in electronics, cast and machined products, chemicals, stamping, powder metal, and systems or components encompassing virtually every part or manufacturing process used in support of passenger and commercial vehicles. Mr. Roesler began his career in the transportation industry, working on the post-merger integration of CSX Railroad followed by projects with Florida East Coast Railway, BNSF, Metro North, Greenwood Motor Lines and Jones Transfer. He has also worked for W.Y. Campbell & Company (a US-based investment bank), Pricewaterhouse Coopers (due diligence, valuation and corporate finance), US Strategic Missile Command on its Bush-era Mobile Rail Garrison project, and Arbor Vista LLC (private-equity group specializing in middle market turnarounds and small cap acquisitions).

Mr. Roesler is a graduate of the University of Michigan where he earned a B.A., M.B.A. and M.S.E. (Master of Engineering).

Kevin MarshKevin Marsh

Mr. Marsh is a Co-Founder and Partner of Angle Advisors and has 14 years of investment banking experience. Having completed over 65 transactions during his career, Mr. Marsh has developed extensive experience working with corporate clients, private business owners, and private equity firms on transactions ranging from the sale of an entire business to product line or business unit divestitures. Mr. Marsh has completed transactions in 18 countries around the world, including in Europe, Asia, North America, and South America. Mr. Marsh has experience across a wide variety of manufacturing processes, including metals (stamping, tubing, bending, machining, grinding, welding), plastics (extrusion, injection molding, over-molding, compression molding, blow molding), rubber (injection molding, compression molding, and extrusion), and electronics assembly. Mr. Marsh’s industry experience includes the vehicular, industrial manufacturing, distribution, and electronics industries, with a particular focus on the automotive aftermarket. Some of Mr. Marsh’s notable recent transactions within the automotive aftermarket include AP Exhaust, CATCO, Mevotech, Federal-Mogul’s Fuel Systems Business, DiabloSport, IMCO/Maremont, EiKO’s Automotive Lighting Business, Quinton Hazell, ATC Drivetrain, Rostra Precision Controls, Bosch’s RTI Technologies Business, and American Condenser. Mr. Marsh is a co-inventor of Angle’s unique “Sponsored Management Buyout” methodology and co-originator of the Fireside Chat® process for selectively qualifying buyer candidates.

Prior to co-founding Angle Advisors, Mr. Marsh worked for W.Y. Campbell & Company, where he managed M&A transactions across a multitude of industries. Previously, Mr. Marsh worked for Questor Management Company, LLC, a private equity firm with $1.1 billion of capital, as well as J.P. Morgan, where he held transaction execution roles on mergers, acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, debt and equity financings, and recapitalizations.

Mr. Marsh holds a B.B.A. with high distinction in Finance and Accounting from the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business, where he was a member of Beta Gamma Sigma.

Matt Zwack Matt Zwack

Mr. Zwack is a Partner at Angle Advisors and has 14 years of investment banking and commercial banking experience. With 9 years of operational experience in the steel industry, Mr. Zwack has an extensive background in manufacturing and metal processing operations to complement his financial and accounting experience. With over 50 completed transactions during his career, Mr. Zwack focuses on the vehicular, metal processing, capital equipment, and industrial manufacturing industries. Some of Mr. Zwack’s notable recent transactions in the metal processing industry include Doral Steel, Salem Steel, Riviera Tool, Waterloo Recycling, and Kecy Products.

Prior to joining Angle Advisors, Mr. Zwack worked for W.Y. Campbell & Company, where he managed M&A transactions and led the firm’s metals practice. Previously, Mr. Zwack was the Chief Financial Officer of a privately held company involved in the steel manufacturing, processing, and waste industries. During his tenure, Mr. Zwack developed a proven track record of successfully managing businesses despite adverse financial conditions and a distressed economic environment. In addition to executive management, Mr. Zwack held various transaction and analyst roles at P&M Corporate Finance, LLC, Bank of America, NT&SA and Comerica Bank.

Mr. Zwack earned a B.B.A. in Finance from the University of Iowa and an M.B.A. with high distinction from the University of Michigan Ross School of Business, where he was a member of Beta Gamma Sigma.

Craig MelegariCraig Melegari

Mr. Melegari is a Partner at Angle Advisors and has 21 years of investment banking and capital raising experience advising corporate clients, private business owners, and private equity funds on merger, acquisition, divestiture, capital raising, and distressed/restructuring transactions. Having completed over 90 transactions across industry verticals such as the vehicular, aerospace, defense, logistics, financial services, marine, business services, specialty chemical, and general industrial sectors, Mr. Melegari has accumulated significant experience with a wide variety of manufacturing technologies including casting, stamping, forging, machining, and injection molding. Specifically, having completed 21 casting transactions, Mr. Melegari has an especially deep knowledge of both ferrous and non-ferrous foundry processes ranging from high pressure die casting, low pressure permanent mold, and gravity to greensand and investment casting technologies. Some of Mr. Melegari’s notable recent transactions in the casting industry include Contech, Albany-Chicago, Key 3, and Federal-Mogul’s Camshaft Business. Mr. Melegari has completed transactions in 16 countries around the world, including in Europe, Asia, North America, and South America.

Prior to joining Angle Advisors, Mr. Melegari worked for W.Y. Campbell & Company, where he managed a variety of M&A transactions over his 13-year tenure at the firm. Previously, Mr. Melegari worked for Mellon Bank and participated in both commercial lending and capital markets activities. Within Mellon’s Institutional Banking Group, Mr. Melegari’s team provided traditional senior credit facilities and leveraged term loans to large corporate and middle-market clients. Mr. Melegari’s career with Mellon began as a member of the International Securities Lending Group where activities focused on the trading of international fixed income and debt securities.

Mr. Melegari received a B.A. in Economics from the University of Michigan and earned his M.B.A. from The Katz School of Business at the University of Pittsburgh, where he was a member of Beta Gamma Sigma.

Tom Gordy (Resized)Tom Gordy

Mr. Gordy is a Managing Director at Angle Advisors and has over 25 years of investment banking experience including sell-side and buy-side M&A advisory, as well as capital raising and restructuring transactions. With over 125 completed transactions throughout his career, Mr. Gordy has experience in the vehicular, paper, building products, capital equipment, mining, logistics and several other industries. Mr. Gordy’s transactions have primarily focused on the sale of privately-held middle-market businesses, including both healthy and highly distressed companies that required difficult and complex restructurings and sale processes.

Prior to joining Angle Advisors, Mr. Gordy was Managing Director at Variant Capital Advisors where he founded and led the firm’s M&A, capital raise and restructuring practice. Previously, Mr. Gordy was Managing Director at Banc One Capital Markets, Inc. and its predecessor, First Chicago Capital Markets, Inc. At Banc One Capital Markets, Mr. Gordy was responsible for originating, structuring, managing and executing public and private debt financings, including high yield and investment grade securities and private placements of senior debt and mezzanine capital.

Mr. Gordy received his Master of Business Administration in Finance from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan and a Bachelor degree from the University of Michigan. He is a member of the Association for Corporate Growth, the American Bankruptcy Institute, and the Turnaround Management Association.

Rick Larkin

Rick Larkin

Mr. Larkin is a Managing Director at Angle Advisors and has 5 years of investment banking experience in addition to 20 years of finance and accounting experience. Mr. Larkin has deep experience in the forging and metal working industry having served as an investor and senior executive with several businesses. With over 70 completed transactions during his career, both as a principal and an advisor, Mr. Larkin has deep experience in the vehicular, industrial manufacturing, aerospace, and high technology industries. Some of Mr. Larkin’s notable recent transactions include Tech Cast, EPTEC, Federal-Mogul’s Camshaft and Connecting Rod Businesses, and Sealant Equipment & Engineering.

Prior to joining Angle Advisors, Mr. Larkin was a Partner at GR Investment Group, a Detroit based private equity firm. At GR, Mr. Larkin was responsible for all acquisition and divestiture activities, as well as management/board level oversight for all portfolio investments. Prior to GR, Mr. Larkin was a senior financial executive at a Michigan based holding company where he specialized in restructuring distressed businesses as well as generating internal and external capital to fund growing enterprises. Mr. Larkin began his professional career at the Detroit office of Deloitte & Touche. His industry focus was manufacturing with considerable expertise in mergers and acquisitions as well as related debt and equity offerings.

Mr. Larkin earned a B.A. in Economics from the University of Michigan and an M.B.A. in Finance from the University of Detroit-Mercy. He is a licensed CPA in the State of Michigan.

Greg AlkhasGreg Alkhas

Mr. Alkhas is a Managing Director at Angle Advisors and has 14 years of investment banking and consulting experience. With over 40 completed transactions during his career, Mr. Alkhas has experience in the vehicular, electronics, capital equipment, plastic injection molding, aerospace, metal processing, chemicals, business services, and industrial manufacturing industries. Mr. Alkhas’ clients have included domestic and international corporate clients, Fortune 500 companies, private business owners, and private equity firms. Mr. Alkhas primarily focuses on mergers & acquisitions, corporate divestitures, and cross border deals. Mr. Alkhas has significant experience advising on capital raising, public to private, private to public, and balance sheet restructuring transactions. Some of Mr. Alkhas’ notable recent transactions include the sale of Delphi’s Reception Systems Business, Models & Tools, EASOM, Evana, and Kurz Kasch.

Prior to joining Angle Advisors, Mr. Alkhas was a Vice President at Lincoln International, where he managed M&A transactions across a variety of industries. Prior to joining Lincoln International, Mr. Alkhas worked for Andrews Advisory Group, a boutique turnaround and restructuring firm focused on advising both debtors and creditors in distressed situations. Prior to joining Andrews Advisory Group, Mr. Alkhas worked in Credit Suisse’s investment banking group, where he held transaction execution roles on mergers, acquisitions, valuations, leveraged buyouts, debt and equity financings, and recapitalizations.

Mr. Alkhas holds an M.B.A. degree from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a B.S. degree in Finance and Accounting from Indiana University.

In 2015, Mr. Alkhas (along with Mr. Roesler) was named All Star Investment Banker of the Year by the Detroit Chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth (“ACG”) for his exceptional advisory work.

Todd FirestoneTodd Firestone

Mr. Firestone is a Managing Director at Angle Advisors and has 15 years of investment banking and corporate finance experience. Mr. Firestone has extensive experience in the energy sector and has completed over 25 transactions with a particular focus on the upstream having previously worked both as an investment banker and research analyst covering the Exploration & Production sector.  His transaction experience includes both the private and public markets having interacted with some of the leading equity funds in the energy space.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Firestone was a research analyst covering the Exploration & Production (“E&P”) sector at Evercore Partners and previously at Morgan Stanley & Co. in New York. Mr. Firestone led a research franchise covering 30 domestic oil & gas stocks and also worked on 15 E&P related initial public offerings while at Evercore and Morgan Stanley.  Prior to his time in New York, he was part of a 20-person team at Vantage Energy, a Riverstone/Quantum portfolio company based in Denver focused on acquiring North American unconventional resource. Mr. Firestone began his career at Kirkwood, Weihman & Co., a Pennsylvania based merchant banking firm which made principal investments in upstream opportunities frequently alongside institutional sponsors, but also acted as an advisor to select energy clients.

Mr. Firestone holds an M.B.A. from the University of Colorado, a J.D. from Case Western Reserve, and a B.A. from the University of Michigan.

Prior to joining Angle Advisors, Mr. Harden was a Director at W.Y. Campbell & Company, where he led the firm’s Shanghai, China office. Mr. Harden has broad international banking and industry experience including 15 years with Hong Kong Shanghai Bank Corporation (HSBC). His experience includes lending, capital sourcing and financial advisory projects in Asia, Africa, & Europe and brings a diverse cadre of contacts from this broad spectrum in financial and business services, manufacturing and consumer products.

Mr. Harden was born in Hong Kong and has lived in China most of his life. He earned a B.A. in Chinese Studies and Economics from the University of Michigan.

 

Christopher de MovellanChristopher de Movellan

Mr. de Movellan is a Director at Angle Advisors and has 14 years of corporate finance experience. Mr. de Movellan brings experience in several functional areas of international business from prior roles in finance, as well as supplier and business development. Primarily focused on the aerospace, defense, and electronics industries, Mr. de Movellan’s background includes aerospace (OEM & aftermarket), financial services, and retail sporting goods manufacturing and distribution. His transactional background includes aerospace components and tooling, aviation airframe and components MRO, and electronics manufacturing services (EMS).

Prior to joining Angle Advisors, Mr. de Movellan held positions with Goodrich Aerospace (now United Technologies), Prudential, GreenPath, and King Par.

Mr. de Movellan holds a B.A. degree from Washington & Lee University and completed post-graduate accounting and finance course-work at the University of Kentucky. Mr. de Movellan’s language skills include English, Spanish, French, Italian, and Portuguese.

 

Jeremy Somers Jeremy Somers

Mr. Somers is a Director at Angle Advisors and has 13 years of investment banking experience advising private business owners, corporate clients, and private equity funds on merger, acquisition, divestiture, and capital raising transactions. With over 25 completed transactions during his career, Mr. Somers has experience in the industrial manufacturing, automotive aftermarket, metal processing, energy, electric and gas utility, technology, consumer, and healthcare industries.

Prior to joining Angle Advisors, Mr. Somers was a Vice President in the Energy & Power investment banking group at Wells Fargo Securities. Previously, Mr. Somers managed middle market M&A transactions at McColl Partners and its successor firm, Deloitte Corporate Finance. Before joining McColl Partners, Mr. Somers worked at UBS Investment Bank where he executed M&A and leveraged finance transactions across a variety of industries. Mr. Somers began his career in investment banking at SG Cowen, focusing on advising electric and gas utilities on M&A transactions.

Mr. Somers holds an M.B.A. degree from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and a B.S. degree in Commerce from the University of Virginia’s McIntire School of Commerce.
